The 2027 Cadillac Escalade is set to see a reduction in its model lineup, and for the first time, the luxury SUV will cross the six-figure price threshold as an entry-level vehicle.
Specifically, the base 1SA, Platinum Luxury rear-wheel drive, and Platinum Sport rear-wheel drive variants are set to be discontinued. In other words, the only way to get the Platinum trim is in four-wheel drive, which means buyers will have to pay more for the same powertrain.

• Escalade-V (AWD, 682 horsepower, twin-turbocharged V8)
It’s the price changes that will have the most considerable effect. Since the base 1SA is gone, the new entry-level trim is the 2WD Luxury, which means the overall price of the 2027 Escalade will cross the 100,000 threshold for the first time in almost three decades. As reference, here are the starting prices of the 2026 Escalade before its
discontinuation:
• 1SA 2WD: $93,995
• Luxury: $104,995
• Escalade-V: $170,595 (base), $173,595 (ESV)
While official pricing details for the 2027 model year have yet to be shared, it’s safe to assume that they will stick to the pattern of the last couple of years. In other words, destination and paint charges may increase even if the MSRP remains the same, so the final selling price will almost certainly go up.
Why does this matter? Well, because a less powerful (but cheaper) variant in the model lineup typically serves as a value option, and the removal of the 1SA means there is no such choice in the 2027 Escalade. In this particular case, a buyer that was set on going with the base engine would have to spend more than 100,000 on the new model, whereas before they could get away with around 94,000. It will also have the most significant effect on companies that buy dozens or even hundreds of units each year, as those that used to buy the 1SA trim will have to make the more expensive purchase now.
As far as timelines go, dealerships will be able to start taking orders from customers in mid-July 2026. The production line for the 2027 Escalade is set to open on September 8 in Arlington, Texas, but those dates may change.
Everything else carries over from the 2025 model year, which means the 2027 Escalade will feature updated front fascia sheet metal, new lighting, and a 55-inch curved dashboard display. Two notable changes include the removal of torque badges (such as 680 horsepower) from the vehicles, as GM has deemed them useless, and the potential end of the Arlington production, as the 2028 model year Escalades will most likely be built in Orion, Michigan.
